Meet Location: Little River Canyon Center Back Deck
Time: 2:30-4 PM
Celebrate Art in the Park Day by learning to see Little River Canyon through the eyes of a naturalist. During this friendly field journaling program, we’ll explore simple ways to observe and record nature, whether that is by sketching plants and animals, or writing about interesting discoveries. Discover how to use your five senses to understand the landscape around you, and record what you notice. You will be able to go home with a person nature journal to continue to fill with observations. But don’t hesitate to bring your own sketchbook or journal if you have a favorite! You don’t need to be an artist—field journaling is about slowing down, paying attention, and creating a personal record of what you experience in the park.
Bring a notebook or sketchbook (if you want) and your favorite drawing supplies. Otherwise, we will have everything you will need right here at the Canyon Center. All ages and artistic skill levels are welcome!
Free! Registration appreciated through daniel_bowles@nps.gov
