Join Outdoor Chattanooga and National Park Partners (NPP) for this paddle in the heart of the Tennessee River Gorge during the fall leaf season. The narrative is on the famous War Chief, Dragging Canoe, and his band of Chickamauga Cherokees. In 1780 one large party of over 200 settlers in 30 boats, the Donelson Party, attempt to float their way down the Tennessee River to central Tennessee and will come under attack by Dragging Canoe’s warriors. Come and paddle a part of the American Revolution and Cherokee History. All equipment is provided. Expect to be on the water for at least 2.5 hours for a 4 mile paddle. Post shuttle back to the vehicles is provided. Appropriate for ages 16 and up.
