SUMMARY:Project ReWild
DESCRIPTION:Project ReWild\nRestore natural habitats as you learn about inv
asive species and how to combat them with native plants.\nHabitat restorat
ion is a continuous commitment to nature. In this volunteer workshop\, you
’ll learn all about the cyclical nature of invasive species and how to c
ombat them through hands-on removal and native plants. You’ll learn how
to identify and properly remove common invasive plants\, in addition to ho
w native species restore the balance of a habitat. After an on-site invasi
ve removal and native planting\, you can bring the knowledge back into you
r own space for the rewilding of our region. Invasive species harm wildlif
e because they crowd out native plants\, which provide food and shelter. T
he Eastern Box Turtle\, for example\, fails to thrive in areas where Micro
stegium (an invasive grass) has taken over. By removing harmful species\,
you help native wildlife and habitats flourish!\nParticipants also receive
a behind-the-scenes tour of our Native Wildlife Sanctuary and a 20% disco
unt in our Native Plant Nursery to encourage area-wide restoration.\nCome
 prepared for outdoor work—wear closed-toed shoes\, long sleeves\, pants\
, and a hat. Don’t forget water\, sunscreen\, and anything else you need
to stay comfortable. We recommend bringing your own work gloves\, althoug
h we’ll have extras on hand.\nImportant: All participants must sign our

SUMMARY:A Simple Living Mindset Workshop with Aur Beck\, Born Off-Grid
DESCRIPTION:A Simple Living Mindset Workshop with Aur Beck. Born Off-Grid.
Raised in Simplicity. Sharing a More Peaceful Way to Live.\nWhat if the go
od life is not about having more\, doing more\, buying more\, or keeping u
 p with everyone else?\nAur Beck\, author of Living Off-Grid\, REALLY\, was
born off-grid and has spent his life understanding simple living from the
inside out. In this one-day workshop\, Aur shares a different way of look
ing at life — one built around peace\, enough\, resilience\, and less de
pendence on the noise and pressure of the modern world.\nThis workshop is
not about moving to the woods\, giving everything up\, or learning complic
ated off-grid systems. It is for everyday people who feel overwhelmed\, st
retched thin\, tired of rushing\, or ready for a calmer and more intention
 al way to live.\nThrough stories\, reflection\, conversation\, and a simpl
e guided workbook\, participants will explore what “enough” means\, wh
at creates stress and clutter in daily life\, and how a simpler mindset ca
n bring more peace\, clarity\, and freedom. The focus is not on doing life
perfectly. It is about learning to slow down\, think differently\, and be
gin choosing what truly matters.\nYou do not have to live off-grid to bene
fit from this workshop. You only need to be open to the idea that peace ma
y come from needing less\, wanting less\, and making more room for what ma
tters most.\nAttendees will leave with a refreshed mindset\, a personal si
mple living statement\, and small first steps they can carry into daily \n

SUMMARY:Hard of Hearing Night: Winged Wisdom
DESCRIPTION:Hard of Hearing Night: Winged Wisdom\nLearn about the beauty an
d importance of our birds of prey within a local ecosystem with an ASL int
erpreter.\nJoin our wildlife staff for an up-close-and-personal look at so
me of our birds of prey. Our experts will guide you through understanding
the majesty and strength of these beautiful birds so you can learn more ab

s of prey. Also learn what makes them unique and how their presence or abs
ence in an area can tell us a lot about the health of that ecosystem.\nWhi
le this tour is not exclusive to the Hard of Hearing community\, it is a u

SUMMARY:Birding by Kayak
DESCRIPTION:Join Outdoor Chattanooga for a guided and equipped kayak tour a
t the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge to view the migrating Sandhill Cranes and t
he American White Pelican. The Hiwassee Refuge is located at the confluenc
e of the Tennessee and Hiwassee Rivers about one hour north of Chattanooga
near the town of Birchwood. The early morning exploration along the perim
eter of the 400-acre Hiwassee Island offers the best chances to see and he
ar the wildlife. This refuge area attracts a variety of birds due to its c
ombination of cultivated\, forested\, and interior wetlands and Sandhill C
ranes begin to migrate here in November\, with peak season mid December to
mid January. All kayak equipment and the guided tour is included in the p
rice. We utilize recreational kayaks that fit most body types (kayak weigh
t limit is 250). Previous kayak experience is helpful due to the colder ti
me of year\, but not necessary to participate. The tour is about 2 hours o
n the water. Appropriate for ages 16 and up when accompanied by a particip

DESCRIPTION:Under the Wolf Moon: Red Wolves &amp\; Mindful Trails\nJoin the
City of Chattanooga: Parks &amp\; Outdoors in the spirit of the full wolf
moon!\nTraditionally\, the January full moon is known as the Wolf Moon\,
a name associated with the howling of wolves during the cold\, quiet winte
r months. The Wolf Moon offers a chance to slow down\, listen closely\, an
d reconnect with the natural world during the stillness of winter.\nYou’
ll begin your visit with the American Red Wolves\, learning about these fa
scinating and critically endangered animals. The Red Wolves are ambassador
s for their species and valuable contributors to the SAFE American Red Wol
f program\, which is a national program that helps bring this animal back
from the brink of extinction. After meeting the wolves\, you’ll embark o
 n a guided\, mindfulness-focused hike through the winter landscape.\nAlong
the way\, we’ll use our senses to slow down\, notice our surroundings\,
and explore our own connection to the wild places around us. Come bundle
up\, embrace the quiet of winter\, and experience the Wolf Moon as an invi
