Step beyond the basics and continue your journey into the timeless craft of blacksmithing.

This hands-on experience is designed for those who have some familiarity with working with tools or have had a previous introduction to the forge and are ready to build on those skills.

Working with hot steel, a hammer, and an anvil, participants will develop a better understanding of how steel responds to heat and hammering while practicing fundamental forging techniques. You’ll learn how to work with the fire, control your heat, move the steel efficiently, and use the anvil and hammer to shape your work with greater confidence.

We’ll also explore traditional blacksmithing techniques and the important role blacksmiths played in building communities and civilizations throughout history, including the development of our own country.

This class is a great opportunity to strengthen your existing skills, learn new techniques, and gain more confidence at the forge—all while experiencing the satisfaction of creating something with your own hands. With the help from the Blacksmith, during the class, each participant will have the opportunity to forge their own steel cross.

Closed Toed Shoes Are Required (Tennis shoes, Boots, Etc.) Croc-style shoes are not considered closed-toed and will NOT be allowed!. Safety Glasses will be provided.
